For many, the coveted college degree has been the only way to open the door to a well-paying, successful career; however, the employment landscape is changing. A study published last year by the Burning Glass Institute points out that US employers have been shifting their focus from degrees to skills. In addition, a 2020 survey by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation discovered that hiring managers are preparing for a future in which competencies - not degrees - are the most important factors when filling a job.
